Al Gore, Blogger and Inventor of Global Warming?

Al Gore's Blog

Al Gore Admits He Invented Global WarmingWell, the liberal blogosphere is finally complete. The day after the most important election of the 21st century, and Al Gore has officially jumped on the blogging bandwagon. His new mouthpiece, An Inconvenient Blog, went live tonight (Nov. 5) with an inaugural post ‘Hope Is a Renewable Resource.’ He tells us that he spent: ‘the past several years putting my money where my mouth is. I have invested in…companies with cool names like AltaRock, Amyris, Altra, Mascoma, Miasole and Ausra…’ You can say that again Al. Sounds like you were drinking just as much of the web 2.0 punch as Peter Thiel.

Now, I love Al Gore as much as the next guy, but couldn’t his management team at Generation Investment Management have spent a little bit of money on a custom blog theme, instead of recycling a free Wordpress template?  (I do suppose that is very green of them) It’s great that the site is powered by Ethanol, but what’s with all of the Google AdSense ads? You would think that a guy like Gore could find other ways to pay for his hosting.

The strangest thing by far, however, is that beyond his perennial claim of having ‘invented the internet’, the former Vice President is now taking responsibility for inventing Global Warming as well.  Someone needs to help this guy with positioning.

All in all, I’m just glad that the man who invented the internet is finally on Twitter like the rest of us. I’ve been waiting for that day to come for a long, long time.

From all of us in the blogosphere, welcome to the Internet Mr. Gore.
